web www.who.int This Implementation Guide is intended to support the utilization of variable International Patient Summary (IPS) documents during pilgrimage leveraging WHO Global Digital Health Certification Network (GDHCN) global public health infrastructure.
web www.who.int This implementation guide includes a machine-readable representation of WHO guidelines for verifiable IPS during pilgrimage. It explicitly encodes computer-interoperable logic, including data models, terminologies, and logic expressions, in a computable language to support implementation of IPS during pilgrimage usage scenario. This Implementation Guide leverages the WHO Global Digital Health Certification Network (GDHCN) .
web www.who.int The guide is part of the WHO SMART Guidelines approach to support countries to integrate WHO global health and data recommendations into digital systems accurately and consistently. It defines a series of FHIR Resources, Profiles, Extensions, and Terminology.

web www.smart.who.int The SHL specifications shall be followed to create a SMART Health Link which is then wrapped in HCERT structure and shared as a CWT structure , by following the below steps:
  • Establish a location that points to the document references within the folder for the pilgrim in the following syntax: "{host}/List?_id={folder_id}&_include=List:item" where 'folder_id' is a unique ID for the folder of health documents for the pilfrim. This shall be used as the Health Link URL within the VHL Payload
  • Construct SHLink Payload
    • Minified
    • Base64urlencoded
    • Prefixed with shlink:/
  • Build HCERT containing SHL generated in previous step
  • Build COSE Payload including the HCERT and sign with private key using Kid
  • Build CWT with header payload and signature
  • Serialize the CWT and using Base64
